    A memorial is defined as “an object that serves as a memory of a dead person or persons”. A memorial can be anything from the epitaph on a gravestone, to a statue. Memorials the world over will vary depending on culture. For example, Mexican people celebrate a “day of the dead” in memory of dead ancestors -- similar rituals are observed all over the world.
