Why are Integrity and Trust So Profitable in a Home Based Business?

Why is operating your home based business with complete integrity profitable? Good question! Let's take a moment to look at what happens when businesses don't.

Without integrity a business may actually make money, even a good deal of it; at first. Even when it works it is typically a short term gain. Soon after people wise up and they stop trusting that person or company, and they hardly ever allow them selves to be taken advantage of again.

In fact, they become more distrustful of everyone in general and turn cynical – hardly the atmosphere for doing business is it?

Most people have been lied to and disappointed by what misleading advertising and people who promised but never delivered. That's why people nowadays have extremely sensitive B.S. detectors.

To thrive in today's world the more authentic and transparent you are about you business the better. If you don't reveal the downside of your product or service people won't accept the good things you say about it either!

People who are being inauthentic or are acting without integrity know in their heart they are not doing good and often project a sense of uneasiness that others can pick up on. The prospect may not get to the point where they consciously think, 'This person is lying'; they just decide not to buy.

Working smarter than harder is all about being engaged in activities/businesses that can provide a passive or residual income. A simple example of that would be authors, songwriters, insurance brokers, network marketers, etc. These people do the work once and are able to earn a passive or residual income off that work over and over.

At bare minimum we suggest you are engaged in a business where your customers need to come back to your product over and over. I once worked as a Hypnotherapist who specialized in helping people stop smoking. My clients would visit me once and quit. That's great, except I then needed to go out and find more clients.

Since finding clients is the most time consuming and expensive part of almost any business you can see I simply was not working smart with that choice of profession. Now I'm engaged only in businesses and Joint Ventures that generate income long after I'd done the bulk of the work.

If you see the wisdom in generating ongoing repeat sales you'll quickly recognize that treating your customers & clients like gold is the only smart way to do business.

By establishing yourself as a person of real integrity people will begin to see you are their 'Trusted Advisor'. The benefits of that can be amazing.

First of all your costs for doing business drop – often dramatically. That's because you don't need to 'replace' existing customers right and left. This means saving good money on your advertising, and your prospecting. It also means saving your valuable time for the same reasons. What's that worth?

Integrity builds trust between you and your customers as well. Trust makes a huge difference in your bottom line. Here are some of the benefits generated by the trust you've earned due to operating out of stick integrity:
Your customers won't require as much 'hand holding' before making a buying decision.

The time and cost to normally invest to acquire new customers is reduced because your existing customers can be depending on for referrals (which are simply people new to your business who have been essentially pre-sold on your integrity). It's far less expensive to work from referrals than finding new customers.

Since your customers trust you they will buy larger quantities, buy more often, and be open you your future guidance.

The next benefit for working with integrity is how it will make you feel as a human being. I once heard the saying, 'A clear conscience makes a soft pillow'. If you like the idea of sleeping soundly and having peace of mind this is the way to achieve it.

The last thing I want rattling around in my mind is how I was less than forthright with another human.

My last benefit has to do with being a good citizen. To me this country and this world are the responsibility of individual humans – not the government.

A thriving economy happens when people are doing business – which at is best is all about adding value to other people and the world. That happens when people recognize they are getting real value for their money.

The economy shrinks when people are scared or they feel that their money is worth more than the product or service being offered. This means they won't take action – both in their own business and in purchasing from others. When people aren't taking action nothing (business wise) happens. Does this make sense?
