The Way of Abundance

I would tell you about the things in my past that prevented me from living my personal best life, but that would mean looking backwards – and I don't go there no more, if you know what I mean. To achieve success you must learn the way to and of abundance and to achieve an abundance mindset you must break the hold that the past has on you and live in the present.

Do you sometimes think to yourself?

· I can't go shopping at Nordstrom or Saks because I cannot afford anything there.

· Do you constantly tell your kids “We can't afford that"?

· Better yet, do you pay your bills grudgingly and with resentment?

Well that's just the wrong attitude to take, you are focusing on lack and limitation and worse yet you're teaching your kids to do it too. Money grows on trees if you believe that it does!

What you ought to do is go to the most expensive shop in your town, rub elbows with the people who shop there and absorb all that affluence, try on a few items, ask for a consultation with a personal shopper – in short act like you belong there and are not just visiting.

If we think of abundance as a street or a river then it would run or flow only one way. Abundance is a one-way thoroughfare because you are either flowing towards it or heading upstream away from the life you deserve. A person who focuses on lack and failure is driving the wrong way on a one-way street, while the person who vibrates to riches and success is doing an easy backstroke just going with the flow.

Maybe that's why successful people just look happy, relaxed and care-free. So you say “Denise, how can I turn around and go with the flow?" I'm glad you asked it's simple really: just prepare for your good.

· Examine your expectations

· Pay your bills with a smile and shift your focus from lack to abundance

· Eliminate the words “I can't afford that" from your vocabulary

· Instead, say to yourself “What can I do to afford that?"

· Buy a tablecloth with matching napkins and dishes for the 12 foot table you are going to put in the dining room of your dream home

· Act as if you have already received and give thanks that you are now walking the right way down the road of abundance.

My husband and I loved visiting new, high-end homes being built in our area. We would wander through them, take pictures, decorate the rooms, plan where to put the bed in the Master bedroom etc. We expected and accepted that we would probably not ever actually live in one of those mini-mansions.

Yet here I sit in a Master bedroom as big as the entire top floor of my previous home, in a recliner in front of our fireplace writing this. You see we had been going against the flow for years and were always living paycheck-to- paycheck, spending what money we had in the wrong places, dreaming and not doing. We finally figured out how to turn ourselves around and run towards abundance and away from lack.

This acceptance of lack is all in your mind – when Napoleon Hill said Think & Grow Rich that is exactly what he meant. You have the power to create a miracle in your life, and that power can be released through your thoughts.

So think, think, think about the things that you want and need, focus on success and plenty and the way of abundance will be opened to you.
