The Benefits of Owning Your Own Business

You've been dreaming about it for years. The thought of owning your own business has kept you up at night, and the image of creating wealth and abundance excites you and sets fire to your imagination. Who wouldn't want to work for themselves, right? Owning a business is a dream come true for a lot of people, and there are plenty of benefits that go long with being an entrepreneur.

One of the best advantages to owning your own business, and we probably don't even have to say it, is the fact that you're your own boss. There's no one looking over your shoulder and no one telling you what to do. Gone are the "office politics" and trying to "impress the boss". You have the freedom to make decisions based on what you think is right, not someone else. The self-confidence that comes along with that responsibility is amazing, and until you're in charge and calling the shots you can't even imagine what it will do for your self esteem. It's definitely empowering to be out on your own.

Another great benefit is the amount of choices you have these days. If you want to consider a network marketing business opportunity, you can. If you want to open up a business in the personal development field, you can. Women open businesses at almost three times the rate that men do, and there is a solid network of support out there to help you on your way. You can find support from colleagues, the Small Business Administration, the local Chamber of Commerce, and plenty of other local and national organizations. A lot has changed in recent years, and owning and running a business is definitely easier than it used to be!

It's also easier for women to pursue funding for their business. Because of the fast growing rate that women are opening businesses, banks are looking at women entrepreneurs in a different way. Years ago, the idea of a woman actually creating wealth as a small business owner was laughable. Their business was seen as a "hobby", or as supplemental income for the family. Well, not anymore! Banks are finally seeing the light that women mean business, and thanks to women's tendency towards organization and a natural grace in person-to-person relationships, women-owned businesses are taking off in a big way.

Many people, women especially, feel the urge to go into business for themselves because they're looking for more flexibility in their life. The rigid life of 9-5 takes a toll, and especially once a woman has children those hours become even more unbearable. If you're the boss, you can decide if you want to work at home, or bring the kids in for the afternoon to work with you. You can also take time off when you want to work on personal development, or spend the day with your family. When you're the boss you've definitely got a completely different life than working for corporate America. Be careful, however. This lifestyle is extremely addicting, and you'll be loath to ever go back to regular hours once you've had a taste!

How much you make is also another big reason why people go into business for themselves. New stories come out every day of entrepreneurs that have been creating wealth and abundance with their businesses, and seeing those stories is enough to make anyone want the same thing. If creating wealth is part of your dream, then one of the only ways to do it is to work for yourself. You sure won't get rich working for someone else. With opportunities like network marketing, or affiliate marketing, right at your fingertips it's easier than ever to start creating wealth and abundance right out of your home.

And that leads to another great advantage- thanks to the Internet you now have more opportunities than ever to work out of your home. The perks to this are enormous- you save money when you don't have to commute, eat lunch out, or buy work clothes. You've got less stress when you don't have to sit in traffic (unless, of course, there's a nasty bottleneck on your way upstairs to your office, but how many times does that happen?) and you're more relaxed because you can actually take time out to work on personal development such as reading, furthering your education, or pursuing more business opportunities. You feel more like you, and there's nothing better than that.

As you can see there are many great benefits to owning your own business. If you spend time preparing and planning for what's to come you can be sure that you'll be well on your way to a more fulfilling, empowering life as an entrepreneur who is following a dream!
