If you are someone who is endeavoring to bring up your grades, there are a number of tricks that will help you to boost your capacity to focus your concentration, absorb the information that you study, and bring it back to consciousness during a test without being subjected to mental blocks or a test phobia. This is a list of how to go about instituting good learning habits:

(1) Create an environment for study and only study in that place! Establish a silent location that will facilitate concentration without any distractions. Some possible examples would be a library, a vacant classroom, or your office. You want to create the routine of studying when you are in this special place. So it's best to not use your special place for other activities like daydreaming, conversations, or playing games, etc.

BE SURE YOUR SPECIAL PLACE HAS:

(a) A comfortable seat, but not too comfy

(b) A writing desk or table

(c) First class illumination

(d) Proper air flow

BE SURE YOUR SPECIAL PLACE DOESN'T HAVE:

(a) Distracting views of other activities

(b) A phone

(c) Loud music

(d) A large screen TV set

(e) A companion who talks all the time

(f) A refrigerator filled with distractions

(2) Break up your work into tiny, short-range projects.

(a) Set up small specific projects like, "I'm going to study my biology from 2 PM to 3 PM. Or else you will only set yourself up to fail.

(b) Set a accessible learning goal for the period of time you are able to set aside. For example: finish reading chapter twelve in my chemistry book, or complete a draft of my English paper, etc. Set your goal when you you are ready to start studying but before you actually begin studying. Set doable goals. You might do more than reach your goal, but set a reachable goal even if it seems far too easy.

(3) Test Phobias

(a) Some people mostly experience physical symptoms, like nausea, feeling hot or cold, headaches, or faintness, etc.

(b) Other people experience emotional symptoms for the most part, like feeling irritable, crying, or getting frustrated quickly.

(c) The main problem with anxiousness is that it can cause you to have a memory block. Or it could trigger thoughts that are racing out of control.

(d) Although you may currently feel some level of anxiousness when taking exams, you can learn to significantly diminish that anxiety, or even completely eliminate it!

(e) Feelings of anxiety and the resultant stress are generally the main causes of a lack of the ability to focus your attention. Stress can also be the cause of a mental block when you try to recollect information.

(f) Hypnosis CD's can be utilized to relax your mind and focus your concentration. As your mind calms down, your ability to stay focused will increase. Similarly, a calm mind enhances your ability to retain information, and recall it when it is needed.

(g) NLP CD's can be used to program your mind for the positive expectation of tranquility and the ability to recollect information during a test. Relaxation is valuable for diminishing or eliminating test anxiety.

(h) There are a number of hypnotherapy methods that can promptly eliminate a test phobia!
