Strategy For The Undecided Career Seeker

Career decision is surely one of the most trying times of anyone's life and so often when one is undecided it can seem like everyone else in the world has been able to confidently, competently make that one decision which will largely define the direction a life will take more than any other save perhaps marriage.

For those who simply cannot at this point in their life feel they are making a wise decision to commit to gaining an education in a specific area of expertise that is desired in the working world there are still some choices which can at least both boost your level of income and give you an area of knowledge which can be of great value to whatever world you finally conclude is the one you'd like to base your life career upon.

Areas that would fall under the above promise of a better life while not committing yourself to an overwhelming engagement in respect to either finance or time would be blue collar jobs requiring expertise or even license such as in the fields of electrician technologist, plumbing, carpentry or perhaps a delivery job driving a truck requiring a specialized license. Other areas which would fall into the category of requiring some prior training but not so much it takes years to become accomplished are the areas of health care assistant and beautician.

These are all areas of work which are both in demand and that the knowledge to hold such position can be achieved in a reasonable amount of time usually under conditions where the trainee is paid a wage while learning to become qualified to hold the higher paying position.

Whether you choose to stay an electrician, plumber, home health care assistant or beautician will be completely up to you but the bottom line is that you will have a marketable skill which is in demand and that pays better than that of what the average man or woman could muster unless they too were blessed with having that extra bit of knowledge which is often the difference between a job and a job that you can be proud to do and feel well paid while doing it.

The nice thing about taking this strategy is that it allows you to choose to take your career in a completely different direction on as short notice as a whim. Enjoy the freedom of being able to follow your current heart's desire for a career goal because you'll still have available the student loans from Uncle Sam whom is known to generally only make these funds available the one time and yes he does expect you to pay the money back so it is not wise to squander such an opportunity unwisely.

In some cases the blue collar job you've chosen because it paid a little more than if you'd opted for a job flipping burgers, can even be a true asset to the career in which you'd prefer to spend the majority of your future working hours. Health care assistant for instance could easily grow further in that field and get a two or four year degree in nursing or even if you don't want to stop your education until you've reached the status of a doctor, in any of those scenarios having a background as a health care assistant can only be viewed as a good thing.
