Alright, let's talk about forums first. Forums are a great way to meet people and learn about your topic. Some of the greatest Internet Marketers frequent their favorite forums regularly to keep up to speed on the latest trends and ideas. Forums are the perfect place to build relationships because you help others and they help you. You build trust, and we all know how important that is in marketing online. When you teach something new to someone, you instantly gain expertise in their eyes, and you can help them leverage that expertise on cooperative projects. You might say a forum is the grass-roots level of any niche.

Then there's blogs. Commenting on other peoples' blogs is good for SEO. You get a link to your site every time you put up a comment. It's generally believed that the better the blog, the better the link, so keep that in mind too. And don't just put, “Hey, thanks for the great post.” There's no point. Put something of value or a reason why you liked a particular part of the post. When you blog, or comment, you become part of that community and that helps you to get to know people. And if you put up a great comment, people might just be inclined to check our your page and see what you're up to. Spend some time blogging every day if you can.

Then, there's the Yahoo! Answers site. Talk about a great way to start any relationship off on the right foot! You start up a profile, throw in some of your favorite links (to your sites) in your profile, and show people what a great, talented, and generous person you are. They check out your profile after being impressed with your help and knowledge, and there's your free traffic. The great thing is that it's not just regular traffic, it's traffic with power because they already know and like you.

Social Bookmarking pages have to be handled carefully. Don't go ahead and start submitting hordes of your own material. It doesn't matter what it is. If you don't first endorse a bunch of great, usable content for everyone else, why would anyone befriend you? Make friends through content, then carefully, slowly push some of your own sites, links, articles, etc. When you have a good group of people that love your links, you are on the way to getting an audience for your own material. When that time comes, you have a much better shot at getting your bookmarks on the front page than any other.

Marketing your videos on YouTube is one thing, and marketing those same videos using a site such as TubeMogul is much, much better. You see there are two points to make. First, Google doesn't see mass video distribution as spam (or duplicates)- which is good for you. Second, you can save yourself a ton of time and work by utilizing a website like TubeMogul.com. Don't just post to one video hosting site, and don't try to keep up by manually submitting your videos to each top site, either.
