Losing weight and keeping it off is a hard struggle; subsequently, most dieters are always on the lookout for fast and easy ways to shed some pounds. The Cabbage Soup diet is known to many people as a popular fad diet that offers a rapid way to lose excess weight, but does it really work? The diet plan is discussed here, along with the keys to taking weight off permanently.

The Cabbage Soup diet calls for, as the name implies, consuming cabbage soup for an entire week. During this seven day period, dieters only eat cabbage soup and a few other foods for weight loss. The plan is not a lifestyle changing plan like some popular diets, and requires no long-term lifestyle changes beyond the seven days of the diet.

There are numerous versions of the cabbage soup recipe. Most contain seasonings, cabbage and other vegetables, such as onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and celery. Some people enjoy adding spicy flavorings to enhance the taste of the soup. Other dieters concerned with sodium intake want to prepare a low-sodium recipe. Many current versions of the diet incorporate healthy sources of protein, such as protein shakes and tofu to make the diet more balanced.

Besides the soup, there are very specific rules for which additional foods are allowed on each day. As a general guideline, dieters eat cabbage soup every day, along with fruit on the first day, vegetables on day two, fruit and vegetables on day three, skim milk and bananas on day four, beef and tomatoes on day five, vegetables and beef on the sixth day, and vegetables, brown rice, and fruit juice on the final day. Those using the diet then resume their regular dietary habits, hopefully now weighing a few pounds less.

Is the Cabbage Soup diet really effective for weight loss? Although no official scientific study has examined the diet conclusively, those who have used the diet report mixed success. For numerous dieters, the program resulted in weight loss (up to ten pounds), but only temporarily, as the weight gradually came back as the individual returned to their normal dietary habits. Some dieters complain of lack of focus, fatigue, and light-headedness while on the diet. Other dieters did not feel any effects whatsoever, seeing no weight loss, but no illness either.

The Cabbage Soup diet is only one of many fad diets that dieters can use. However, because this diet does not always work, for many overweight people it just adds to the frustration of being overweight. A better method of dieting does not rely on gimmicks or short-term diet programs. It takes consisten hard work and lifelong commitments to achieve permanent weight loss goals. This means eating right and getting plenty of exercise.

Unfortunately, many of us fight to maintain the healthy habits necessary to take weight off. Lots of frequent dieters struggle to lose weight because of their intense food cravings, uncontrollable appetites or dietary habits, or a simple lack of motivation. Hypnosis therapy is great for working through these problems and providing the motivation required for natural weight loss.

Among the many reasons hypnotherapy is perfect as a weight loss tool is because hypnotherapy may be used for natural appetite suppression. A great number of people suffer from out-of-control appetites because of problems with "emotional eating" which gives them an unconscious urge to overeat even when they aren't truly hungry. Hypnosis helps re-train the unconscious mind to extinguish the drive to overeat, resulting in appetite suppression without drugs or pills.

Another way hypnotism can work to help you take weight off is by reducing the anxious thoughts that give you the desire to overeat and destroy your motivation to get physically fit. The moment you begin to think negatively, hypnosis taps into your unconscious to naturally have positive thoughts instead, which causes you to feel relaxed.

Your motivation for exercise can be dramatically enhanced through hypnosis therapy and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming). First, you ascertain what the most significant aspects of your life are. Then you use techniques in NLP to lead you into believing that the things that are most important to you will benefit when you exercise, or placed at risk if you do not. Thus, it becomes simple to stay motivated to take care of yourself and stay in shape.

Everyone has the ability to learn NLP and hypnotherapy techniques from a high quality hypnosis weight loss CD program. The techniques in hypnotherapy CDs utilize the power of unconscious thoughts to help dieters extinguish their cravings. By putting a stop to cravings and urges, the appetite is reduced or eliminated entirely. Weight loss hypnosis programs also assist you in getting motivated to exercise.

By reprogramming your unconscious mind, hypnotism makes weight loss natural. It is a superb tool to make you feel motivated and naturally committed healthy habits. So before embarking on a fad diet, consider a healthier approach to weight loss through exercise, eating healthy, staying positive, and using hypnotherapy techniques to reach your goals.
