FIO Oromo rebels eclipse tyrant Zenawi's bogus-Ethiopian Millennium spectacle

In an overwhelming act that highlights the feelings of all the Oromos, the Army for Independence of Oromia (AIO) which represents the military wing of the great Oromo liberation movement FIO – Front for Independence of Oromia, carried out a devastating offensive pounding occupying Abyssinian military forces’ positions.

More particularly, AIO forces attacked the Abyssinian occupation army command garrison in the Dallo Manna town, a high place of epic Oromo resistance against the criminal Amhara and Tigray occupying forces.

Furthermore, Dallo Manna is known for its detention centre where thousands of heroic Oromos met death at the hands of the most sadistic and inhuman military Amhara torturers in an appalling record of Human Rights violations. In the Name of the Oromo Martin Luther King – General Waaqoo Guutuu

FIO dedicated the successful military operation, which caused heavy casualties to the occupation army, to the Great and Illustrious Oromo General Waaqoo Guutuu (1924 - 2006), who has rightfully been characterized as the Oromo Martin Luther King.

We find necessary to quote here an excerpt from the highly inspired Obituary published (http://www.tokkummaa.org/) on 5 February 2006 by the leading Oromo sociologist Prof. Mekuria Bulcha under title ‘Reminiscences about General Waaqo Guutu’ as it underscores the legendary General’s great human values and qualities:

"In heroic age societies, the great man is not he who tries to make his voice heard through what we call pervasive relations based on super-ordinate; rather, through natural quality of enlisting or demonstrating heroic actions which characterize all prominent figures and cultured nations of the past and present. One of the greatest personal qualities of Waaqo Guutu is that he had a vision of a world in which there would be no indignity. In his entire political life, the hero patriot fought for the ideas of popular sovereignty preceding, that is, to emancipate the nation trampled over from the pressing yoke of the ruling minority and promote a sense of national identity and values without which self-assurance, the complete revision of the powered and the disempowered cannot occur. Though time stood against him many times, though his revolutionary voice may not be heard as he desired because of the changing political fashion, the heroic actions and perseverance he had demonstrated to bring the "bright day of justice" has a powerful appeal to all those who sense the value of human freedom."

FIO - Front for Independence of Oromia

The Front for Independence of Oromia is a leading Oromo liberation movement that has very clear objectives, and struggles for the independence of the Oromos, who consist in Abyssinia’s largest nation totaling 40% of the country’s entire population. Oromos have been under successive monarchical, communist, and pseudo-republican / bogus-federalist, Abyssinian (Amhara and Tigray) totalitarian occupation for no less than 120 years.

Centered around Finfinne that the Amhara Abyssinian occupation forces have shamefully re-baptized as Addis Ababa (a most loathsome name for all the Oromos), the Kushitic Ethiopian nation will prosper and progress rapidly, incorporating the Oromo Diaspora who either in Australia, America, Africa or Europe progressed in various fields, from Sciences and Arts to Business and Sports, living ceaselessly with the Hope of Independence and Self-Determination of Biyya Oromo.

We quote from the FIO website (http://www.awofio.com/) excerpts illuminating FIO objectives:

"The political objective of the Front for Independence of Oromia (FIO) is to facilitate the implementation of the right of the people of Oromia to self-determination without any preconditions or limitations. The Ethiopian colonial system of domination and exploitation shall be replaced with an independent democratic republic of Oromia.

FIO recognizes the rights of all nations to self-determination, the rights of all peoples to basic human rights and the rights of all peoples to basic democratic rights. These principles are recognized and respected by all freedom loving individuals and institutions all around the world and an independent state of Oromia shall respect these principles.

The right of the people of Oromia to self-determination is paramount and can not be compromised; however, FIO recognizes the possibility of a voluntary union of free and equal nations. FIO, however, rejects forced union of the Ethiopian empire; an empire based on domination and exploitation. The right of the people of Oromia to self-determination should be realized before any talk of political arrangement with other nations.

FIO believes the rights of the people of Oromia to self-determination is realized when citizens of Oromia exercise their rights to establish an independent state."

Cancel you fake Millennium festival! People are starving!

At this point, we publish the integral text of the FIO Military Communiqué which sheds light on the operation that spread among the criminal Tigray Abyssinian rulers a feeling of panic because of the link made by the FIO with the disreputable dictatorial festivals prepared by the ruthless government of fake ‘Ethiopia’ for September 11, the so-called ‘Ethiopian Millennium’.

At this point, we would like to advise for immediate cancellation of all the shamelessly planned activities that absorbed the impoverished country’s scarce resources at a moment people are starving in the occupied territories of Oromia, Ogaden, Sidama Land, Shekacho Land, Gambella, Afar Land and other areas illegally invaded and controlled by the criminal Amhara and Tigray racist elites of Abyssinia.

The sun of freedom will soon shine over independent Oromia!

While the nations and nationalities they govern are gripped in poverty, backwardness, and oppressive political practice, our Abyssinian colonizers are spending scarce resources of our nation on lavish parties and excessive squander to celebrate their version of the 2nd millennium of the birth of Christ. They still believe that the sun never sets over their empire built by butchery of the Oromo people and ongoing misery they have caused our nation, Oromia.

Today, we are very proud to announce that the Army for Independence of Oromia (AIO) the military wing of the Front for Independence Oromia (FIO) has completed its profound preparation and has gone into action. On Friday September 7, 2007, our people’s gallant fighters have carried out their armed offensive against the military position of the occupying Ethiopian army command unit stationed in the historic district of Dallo Manna in South Eastern Oromia. This district is noted in the resistance history of the Oromo people and the famous Oromo hero, General Waaqoo Guutuu.

We acknowledge that the Army for Independence of Oromia has claimed responsibility for the action taken against the occupation army command garrison in the town of Dallo Manna. In this raid, the ammunition storage of the occupation force, command unit facilities in the camp, and barracks have been completely destroyed and the enemy soldiers suffered heavy casualties. After facing devastating attack, the enemy soldiers were over-run and fled the town on foot leaving behind their belongings. Our gallant soldiers have returned to their mobile base scoring victory over the enemy during this historic mission, breaking the psychological supremacy of the enemy.

We declare to the world that the bid to liberate Oromia and the return of the Oromo Gada democracy has begun. This armed conflict between the Oromo people and the force of occupation shall continue until the independence of Oromia is achieved. We call upon our people, and other oppressed nations and the nationalities in the Ethiopian empire, to stand in unison against the occupation forces so that freedom for all could be realized.
