Ok, so you plan to delve into the world of website marketing. Like most people you have probably heard about the fantastic benefits that it can have for your company, but is that the only reason that you are considering Website Optimization? Yes? Oh dear, I think you should read on, you might be in for an interesting surprise.

Imagine that marketing your website is like having a major crush on someone... Ok, now imagine that you would do anything to impress this person. You take a shower. Hell, you even go as far as doing your hair and spraying some aftershave on! Desperate measures require desperate actions after all. So, now imagine that your newly showered self manages to impress this person and it turns out that they like you just as much as you like them. Bingo! You’ve got just what you wanted. However, you’ve also got a lot more than that. Taking that shower has brought a new freshness to your personality, it has made you look and feel more attractive, and therefore you feel good about yourself.

Believe it or not this is exactly how your website feels.

Your site, just like every other site out there, has a major crush on the big three search engines. It wants to impress them in order to make the top spot. However, the only way to achieve this is to have your site optimised. As a result of this optimisation, the search engines take a major liking to your site, and you begin to find yourself climbing up the search engine’s rankings. That is obviously fantastic news, but there are far more benefits from having your site optimised.

For starters, your site will look and feel more professional. The title tags will now relate to the content within the page, as opposed to simply saying your company name or ‘homepage’. Its little alterations like this that can create a huge improvement for your site.

In addition to this, optimisation will also improve the user-friendliness of your site. This will increase the chances of your visitors coming back to your website time and time again. After all, nobody likes a poorly navigated site.

There are too many benefits to mention them all in this short article. If I did, then you would be reading for hours, and therefore it would have to be called a long article, which just sounds stupid! So there you have it – the benefits of website marketing are far greater than just gaining a higher position on the search engines.
