Appalling Aspects of the Nazi Amhara Tyranny in Fake 'Ethiopia'

By: Muhammad Shamsaddin Megalommatis
[][Post to BookMarks @ AfroArticles.com]

[ Posted On: 2007-09-16 ]

If the tyranny took so many variant forms, and lasted so long in Abyssinia, fallaciously re-baptized as 'Ethiopia', one of the reasons is the terrible oppression imposed by the totalitarian Amhara elites on the Amharas themselves first.

In the anachronistic and antihuman realm where all forms of tyranny have been ceaselessly implemented for more than 150 years, the Amharas and the Tigrays are the first victims of their racist masters who employ them in the oppression of the invaded peoples and the exploitation of the occupied lands.

Amharas as victims of the Amhara Nazi elites

Long before the Oromos are tortured in the jails of Finfinne (dictatorially and shamefully renamed as Addis Ababa), long before the Gambellas see their land expropriated, long before Ogaden lands and houses are mercilessly burnt out by the occupying forces, long before the Sidamas are stripped of their coffee trees, long before the Kaffas and the Shekachos, the Afars and the other oppressed peoples of Abyssinia are plunged in disaster, the Tigrays and the Amharas are tyrannized in an unprecedented way.

Tyrannically educated and dictatorially grown, the Amhara and Tigray youths for many long decades have been kept isolated from the outer world for which their barbaric instructors instill in their hearts and minds contempt, disregard, hatred and disgust.

Focus on Amhara 'educational' methods

Sort of mystical empathy about a supposed Amhara superiority is vituperatively inculcated in their imagination that turns out rancorous and rotten. The long list of incomprehensible myths that have been embedded within their false, heretic pseudo-Christianity, amalgamated with a world vision that implies threats from Islam, Western Christianity, African religions, and at the same time lethal menace from the part of the Oromos, the Somalis, the Yemenites, the Arabs, the Egyptians and the Sudanese, produce an explosively bad-mannered, impolite, coarse, and obdurate mindset and 'person' that is 'released' from the Amhara and Tigray primary and secondary schools as a monster.

The never presented (let alone, analyzed) at an international (let alone, national) level "manuals" of the Amhara and Tigray educational systems reveal the techniques, the facets and the methods of formation of an unbelievably totalitarian personal character and mentality – epitome and embodiment of the Nazi Germans, and/or the Stalinist CPSU members.

It is urgent for the international community to deal with the methods and processes that generated (not few as in Nazi Germany but) numerous generations of human beings transformed into totalitarian beasts ready to perpetrate any sort of crime demanded by their masters.

Amhara Cacophony: a treacherous act to convince the cretins

In 2007, methods of Goebbels propaganda are shamelessly perpetrated by the Amhara party members and average followers of the Neo-Nazi Kinijit party, who attempt to diffuse falsehood and confuse the international opinion with respect to their doctrine and practices. One of these methods relates to impersonating enemies in order to confuse their representatives and diffuse discord and dissonance.

Covered by the veil of anonymity or behind ill-selected personal names that supposedly belong to representatives of Abyssinia's oppressed nations, they try to produce the impression that there are submissive Oromos, subservient Sidamas, compromised Ogadenis, obedient Gambellas, docile Afars, flexible Shekachos, and other people of elastic memory, accommodating character, and forgetful nature that can possibly be domesticated by the superior race of the Amhara illiterates.

In fact, there are no submissive people in the Cenotaph 'Ethiopia'; the disgust and the pity the Amharas and the Tigrays are dealt with by the Oromos, the Ogadenis, the Sidamas and all the rest can be easily detected by any truthful testimony and reporter.

In order to demonstrate the depravity of the Amhara attitude, and to denounce at an international level the deviate character of the ill-fated generations of Amhara intolerant mentality, we will republish here and refute a letter sent to Editor of the American Chronicle by a fabricated bogus-Oromo, an non existent person that has been impersonated by a raucous Amhara.

An Amhara clown ready to impersonate a non existent Oromo!

Under the false name Solomon Abdissaa that an average American, German or Japanese cannot examine and is inclined to easily accept as authentic Oromo (whereas it is not), an Amhara attacked me, as if he were an Oromo, in his poorly edited and badly documented text – libel I should say -, entitled 'Demonizing Abyssinia at the expense of Kush', which was published on September 11 (http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/viewArticle.asp?articleID=37333). The numbers incrusted in his text refer to my comments. His text reads as follows:

"Dr. Muhammad Shamsaddin Megalommatis is a very learned man. He is so scholarly he has written 12 books, and many countless articles. He speaks, reads and writes more than 15, modern and ancient, languages. Born Christian Orthodox, he adhered to Islam when 36, devoted to ideas of Muhyieldin Ibn al Arabi. I believe Dr. Megalommatis is a man who has stripped his own identity, religion and furthermore his soul to be something he is not. Not only is he unable to define himself, he is in constant search to define others under his own terms and condition. 1

As an Ethiopian Oromo, I take great offence with his constant bashing of the Amhara and Tigrians ethnic groups in Ethiopia. 2 I don't need Dr. Megalommatis to define who I am 3, nor I don't need him to stand for my right. Our struggle in Ethiopia is not to replace an ethnic hegemony with that of another one 4 and create revengeful society that is based on past hate 5; our struggle is to have a country that respects every citizen regardless his or her ethnic group 6. Historical mistakes and events that existed cannot be undone 7, nor shouldn't be a burden of the future generation 8, but learning and a stepping-stone to better our society and our country. It is no secret that today's Ethiopia is different than that of the Ethiopia 30,100,1000 years ago. 9 We don't expect Ethiopia to revert back to that time, but instead to progress to the future. If America can become great with being a nation of Whites, Blacks, and Latinos we don't see why Ethiopia cannot attain the same status. 10

Some may think Dr. Megalommatis is standing up for the Oromo right, and that he is presenting an "historical" perspective to define and protect the interest of Oromos, Sidamas, Ogaden, etc.., but the truth is that he is laying the ground work to keep the existing system of Ethnic division by creating more rift among us. 11 I also take great offence in his condescending attitude towards Oromos, as if we are incapable beings who have not managed to have any say or control of our destiny, our past and our future. 12 The way he tries to strip our great accomplishment and contribution and try to minimize our role in building Ethiopia 13 is very condescending and outright shameful. I would like to tell Dr. Megalommatis, that Oromos are one of the main architects of the current Ethiopia and are proud of our contribution 14. Our fathers and grandfathers have died from Adawa to Machew, defending the integrity of Ethiopia 15. As we speak right now, there are thousands of Ethiopian Oromo soldiers standing and serving our great nation of Ethiopia 16.

Aside from being the historical architects of current Ethiopia, we Oromos have inter-married with the Amharas, Tigriaians, Gurages, Harrires (all of them what Dr. Megalommatis) call the "Abyssinians". 17 Our people are bounded not only by land but with blood which Dr. Megalommatis cannot wash with all his diatribe and constant barrage of hate speech against the Amahras and Tigrians. 18 Yes we may have grievance about each others relationship, yes we may have been in the short end of the stick in past dealing, but for us to pave the future is not to demonize the people whom are our neighbors, aunts, uncles, sons, and daughters. Our leader BULCHA DEMEKSA 19 have stated it beautifully as follows "In order to move forward as a nation, we must heal the wounds as we enter the new Millennium20. We must make a national effort to reconcile at all levels of our society. Our South African brothers and sisters 21 have taught us how to heal wounds. Their institution of Truth 22 and Reconciliation 23 has saved them so far from bloodshed and political chaos." Dr. Maglamotoms take your ideas somewhere else; we don't need your kind of help. Thank you but NO THANK YOU! 24

God bless Ethiopia's Children

Our diversity is our Unity!

Solomon Abdissaa"

Comments on and Refutation of the bogus-Oromo's assumptions and admonitions.

Point 1.

The Amhara author of this text demonstrates a great part of interest for my modest person, and in doing so he cares little about my studies, Egyptian Hieroglyphics to Assyrian Babylonian Cuneiform, Gueze with Maxime Rodinson, Egyptology with Jean Leclant – the personal friend of Haile Selassie. He even cares little about my explorations, travels, and life in so many different countries; he focuses on my adhesion to Islam, which seems to be particularly embarrassing for him.

Before discussing the issue at the personal level, I will make a clear-cut comment about the author's identity; this approach cannot be that of an Oromo, but only of an Amhara and Tigray Monophysitic, heretic Christian. One has to remember that no more than 15% of Oromos practice today Waaqefanna, the traditional, monotheistic and aniconic Oromo religion, whereas the majority of the Oromos adhere to Islam and Christianity.

Before 200 years, Muslim Oromos did not exceed 20% of the entire Oromo population, and there were almost no Christian Oromos. Despite the gradual adhesion to Islam or Catholic / Protestant Christianity, Oromos still preserve rituals and beliefs pertaining to Waaqefanna. The concept of change of religion is therefore common among the Oromos, and because of this, my attitude would never be a matter of question for an Oromo Original. But it is for the Amhara author of the text, who impersonates miserably the imaginative Oromo he would like to be for some minutes – when writing his poor text.

The concept that through one person's emancipation, and free choice and adoption of another religion, the person in question 'strips' him/herself from his/her own identity pertains to Barbarism. Only Barbarism defines that whatever you are you must be forever, that you have to stay what you are, with no development, no personal change, no personal freedom, and no personal improvement; whatever your background is, whoever you are; whatever your free choice may be.

The barbaric author, who attempted to attack my change of religion, is scared to death that if the Oromos become independent, the Sidamas shape their national home, the Afars merge with those of Eritrea and Djibouti, the Ogadenis merge with Somalia, and all the other oppressed peoples of the Cenotaph 'Ethiopia' become free, the Amharas and the Tigrays will be obliged to accommodate their misery within the borders of their small, arid and underdeveloped lands, and open their societies to the Overwhelming Winds of African Democracy.

And when Democracy will be imposed among the Amharas, 80% of the Amharas will become Muslim (instead of 50% now), rejecting their abject and self-conflicting form of heresy (not according to me but as stated in New Advent Catholic Encyclopedia) that they viciously call "Christianity".

He cares about me being 'something that I am not'! Only a Muslim could say whether I am Muslim or I am not! Am I unable to define myself? This is probably his situation, as the term Christian is not permissible for his heresy, and the national term 'Ethiopian' he wrongly uses is usurped, and does not belong to him, whereas he does not want to admit that he is a Yemenite offspring on African soil, namely an Abyssinian. As he expresses such an interest in my person, I will satisfy him, with a personal element, namely my self-definition!

I am a Citizen of the World, as Socrates identified himself before 35 centuries (Polites tou kosmou), and as many others before and after the Great Athenian philosopher identified themselves. I would add that within the context of Ancient Rome, I would identify myself as eclectic, but probably the Amhara author of the text never heard of this term. These choices pre-existed my adhesion to Islam, and they successfully survived.

Furthermore, he sneers at me as being "in constant search to define others under his own terms and condition"; 'my terms' are not terms of my own. These terms are academically accepted terms, and they apply to him – either he likes them or not – as agreed by the world's academic establishment. He has not understood that there are not Amhara and Tigray historians and scholars, as they are all in constant disagreement with the globally – academically accepted historical common sense, because they are proceeding through apologetics for the needs of their political masters, Abyssinia's murderous, cruel and inhuman tyrants, Haile Selassie, Mengistu and Meles Zenawi. The only thing he has to do is accept what I and so many other scholars say, and stop usurping the Fair Name of Ethiopia that belongs exclusively to modern Kushites.

Point 2.

'My constant bashing of the Amharas': only an Amhara would say this; even the Tigrinya speaking Eritrean, Mr. Eremias Woldemikael, did not use this terminology for me! The false author says that he - as an Oromo - takes 'great offence' with my bashing of the Amharas!

Great!

And he does not take offence with the Amharas having occupied and subdued, enslaved and tyrannized his own country! What sort of Oromo is he? Who can find an Oromo born to be slave and joyful with this? There is no Oromo like that!

How an Oromo takes offence with my placing the Amharas in front of the much needed (to them) mirror, and he does not take offence with what the Oromo Historian and Sociologist, Prof. Mekuria Bulcha states in his book about the Oromo Diaspora (chapter 3 – The Making of the Ethiopian Empire – The Slave-Export Firearms-Import Nexus):

"Before the 1880s, Menelik engaged mainly in raiding expeditions which appropriated cattle, property and slaves. Strengthened by modern firearms, his forces were able to penetrate more deeply into Oromo territory than those of his predecessors. However, booty and tribute collection, rather than colonisation of territories, remained the aim of the expeditions".

Related Note - "The amount of booty captured grew substantially. For example, in 1878 an expedition against the Soddo Oromo captured 6,000 to 7,000 head of cattle, some ivory and between 3,000 and 4,000 slaves of both sexes. See Darkwah, R. op. cit., 1975, p. 192. And, in 1880-1, an expedition against the Arsi returned with 100,000 head of cattle, See Marcus, H. op. cit., 1975, p. 64".

If this coward and treacherous Amhara were an Oromo, would he be offended because of my attitude or because of the enslavement of thousands of Oromos at the hands of the criminal Amhara thugs?

Would an Oromo rejoice with the following excerpt from the aforementioned book of Prof. Bulcha?

"However, the records indicate clearly that each successful zamacha (expedition) resulted in the capture of thousands of women and children (able-bodied men and the elderly were killed) and huge "harvests" of booty, particularly in livestock. Consequently, there was an increase in human merchandise, both in the local and export markets between the 1870s and 1890s".

Who can believe that this person as Oromo 'takes offence with my bashing of the Amhara' and does not take offence with the Amhara selling Oromo slaves to the Ottoman Empire?

Again from the aforementioned book of Prof. Bulcha:

"Wylde also noted that, "Galla slaves from king Menelik's domains have always been and still are for sale in Hodeidah and Mecca".

Related Note - Ibid., p. 475, Appendix III, Note. The book in which this note appears deals with his journeys in Ethiopia in the late 1890s

Point 3

I do not define what an Oromo is; I am not a specialist in Oromo Studies. Part of my studies and researches is dedicated to Sudan Archeology and Meroitic Studies. And among other personal contributions and syntheses, I drew a line of historical continuity between Meroitic Ethiopia and the Modern Oromos. All the Oromos thanked me for this; only an Amhara would be embarrassed with someone demonstrating that the Oromos' past is greater, longer, and far more illustrious than that of the Amhara Abyssinians; and only an Amhara can be embarrassed with my point that only the Oromos and the other Kushitic peoples of today can use the name 'Ethiopia' that Amhara distorters and Nazi forgers attempt to criminally usurp.

Point 4

'Replace an ethnic hegemony with that of another one': this again is an expression of Amhara fears that the Oromos want to rule Abyssinia. Of course, the Oromos have every right to impose a majority rule (along with the Sidamas, the Ogadenis, the Afars and the others, they total 70 – 72% of the entire population of the country, against the Abyssinian Amharas and Tigrays who do not exceed 28 – 29%); it is the racist Amhara elements who do not want to accept the rule of the majority because they are indoctrinated with the most repugnant and nefarious racism against the Black. But the issue precisely does not exist; the Oromo political leadership and the Oromo intelligentsia do not want to rule over the ignominiously and miserably ignorant and antidemocratic Amhara; they want to separate themselves from the Amharas, to leave them in their Amhara territory where they will do whatever God may illuminate them!

Only with the thought of the Oromos' independence that would trigger the emancipation of all the other long tyrannized nations of the Morgue 'Ethiopia', the Amharas are flooded with cold sweat because they know that among all these states they would be the most backward, underdeveloped, filthy and execrable, as their properties are all due to the extensive and long lasting robbery of the invaded peoples' and occupied lands' national resources.

If the author of the text is an Oromo, he should rejoice with the fact that he will be free of the Amhara pestilence, as all the Oromos call that parasitic tribe.

Point 5

Certainly no one wants a society based on past hate; that is why the Oromos and all the rest will secede and leave the Amharas in Gondar to self rule, as it pleases them. If all these different nations are within one technical entity, resulted from occupation and tyranny, the perspective of Hatred will be permanent.

Point 6

Unfortunately, the Amharas demonstrated for more than 150 years that they do not respect other peoples and nations; the respect they show to others is the respect to exterminated and forgotten species. Amharas used to call the rest 'insects'; The time has passed when excuses would have been accepted. All know the Amharas are racist, and if the Amhara author has a doubt about it, he can suggest the solution of a free referendum throughout Abyssinia with the questions:

  • - Do you believe the Amharas are racist? I bet 80% would answer 'yes'.

  • - Do you want to form an independent state free of Amharas and Tigrays? The answer would 'yes' at around 70 – 72%.

  • Why don't you try it? Just to prove me wrong?

    Point 7

The sentence 'Historical mistakes and events that existed cannot be undone' can be made by a guilty part only; the remorse is subconsciously perceived but at the conscious level suppressed. It is tragic to see the perpetrator of a crime admitting this. In fact, yes, nothing can be undone.

Approximately 6 million Jews executed by Hitler is something that cannot be undone.

More than 6 million Oromos, Ogadenis, Sidamas, Shekachos, Afars, Kaffas, Gambellas and others executed over the span of 150 years cannot be undone either. But there will be an equally severe punishment, and one must be mad to imagine that a punishment, this way or that way, will be averted.

Amharas will pay; bitterly, painfully and tragically.

    Point 8

'A burden for the future generation'! Who is talking? Let's say, it's 1945 and Goering asks you to forget Nazism's past for the sake of the future generation! Wouldn't that be too comical to even consider? The same is the case with the execrable deeds of the Amharas that lasted not 12 years of Nazi rule in Germany but more than 150 years of inhuman (monarchical, communist and pseudo-federal bogus-republican) Abyssinian tyranny.

    Point 9

Today there is no Ethiopia; totalitarian Abyssinia has no right to use this name; it belongs to Kushitic peoples, who upon independence will deprive the Amharas from the bogus-appellation.

    Point 10

You can't compare Abyssinia to America; America did not invade the Latinos to sell them as slaves to Europe. There was a Civil War to terminate the use of slaves in America, not a policy to invade other countries with the malignant intention to sell the local populations as slaves and thus depopulate and practically annex their lands when they would be empty of population. This is what the gangster pseudo-kings of the Amharas attempted to do; that is why the Amhara Abyssinian colonialism is the most inhuman act in the History of the Mankind.

    Point 11

'Creating more rift among us': this point also shows that the author is Amhara native. He has no idea how deep resentment all the oppressed peoples of Abyssinia feel against the Amhara; it's normal that he has no idea. He does not know because he does not want to know. But the world must know, and the UN should arrange a referendum in all the provinces of the Amhara-cursed countries to finally inform all the civilized people of the world that all the oppressed peoples of Abyssinia consider the Amhara gangsters as the most inhuman and the most malignant population in the world. Personally, I cannot create 'more rift'; greater than that caused by the murderous acts of the Amhara tyrants cannot exist.

    Point 12

On the contrary, I believe Oromos are very able to get rid of the Amhara pestilence, and so they are currently proceeding.

    Point 13

The Oromos had a role in building Abyssinia? Oh, yes, I forgot! This is a Grand Guignol! The Oromo contribution: they have been sold as slaves, they have been butchered in millions, stripped of any portion of human dignity, and kicked out of the country!

    Point 14

Oromos proud of their resistance, yes!

    Point 15

Oromos in Adwa: placed in the front line, because they were not trusted, and because they were thought of as expendable! Another racist act of Menelik. Occupation of the Biyya Oromo (Land) was at those days a recent event.

    Point 16

Oromo soldiers in Somalia? They defect in great numbers, and Kenya is flooded by them!

    Point 17

Mixed marriages: a very marginal issue that changes in nothing the situation.

    Point 18

As you speak of Oromo blood, you demonstrate that you are an Amhara, having Oromo blood on your ancestors' hands.

    Point 19

Bulcha Demeksa is not the natural leader of the Oromos, and if there are free elections with the participation of all Oromo parties under UN monitoring, he will be marginalized. Currently living in Tyrannical Abyssinia, he certainly knows that, if he says what he believes, he will be sent to Kaliti jail to die in the dreariest way. For an old person, this is certainly not an option.

    Point 20

The so-called Millennium is a false, counterfeit millennium – result of the execrable ignorance of the uneducated debteras who never knew about Dionysius Exiguus, and his reforms, isolated as they were in their mountains and in their erroneous and incomprehensible nonsense that they dare present as 'Christianity'. In addition, it is not Ethiopian, but the Gueze Millennium. Oromos have their own calendars, but the author as he is an unrepentant Amhara knows nothing about them.

    Point 21

Abyssinia has nothing in common with South Africa; South African Black peoples and nations did not invade one another in the way loathsome and repudiated Amharas occupied the lands of so many other peoples, and tried to eradicate their cultures, exploiting their resources, and dehumanizing them in a most excruciating way.

    Point 22

Amharas and Truth are incompatible; except you agree that you limit yourselves in Gondar, leaving all the rest in peace, present formal apologies, and pay an agreed recompense for 150-year long robbery of unprecedented scale.

    Point 23

Reconciliation? This is the main target of all my contributions; it will be possible to happen only after the final splitting of the Morgue 'Ethiopia' and the independence of all the oppressed (by Amhara and Tigray Abyssinians) Kushitic peoples. The sooner you realize this, the better!

    Point 24

All Oromos have supported me thus far in a way that I consider most honorable, most courteous, most considerate, and most obliging; thanks to their love, I will continue. I will not go to any other place except Finfinne. If you are an Oromo, I will meet you there. At the Most Joyful Moment of the Death of the Inhuman Cenotaph 'Addis Ababa'.
