An Incredible Juncture in 'Iraq': the Zarqawi menace

The recent public declaration of the terrorist leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and his "al-Qaeda in Iraq" that they intend to conduct an "all-out war" against the Shia majority was not (and cannot be taken as) only a "sadistic boast followed by a savage and shameless campaign of suicide bombings" (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,542-1783979,00.html). It is at the same time the end of all lies, misconceptions, misinterpretations and miscalculations.

The Iraq insurgence is an event of international dimensions

Very correctly, the British newspaper states that "those who insisted that the Iraqi "insurgency" was home-grown can hardly maintain that stance when it is being championed by a Jordanian national in the name of a group established by a Saudi-born fanatic".

In the light of the Jordanian terrorist's recent declarations, various views and interpretations depicting these criminals as simply nationalists have been in fact proved to be absolutely erroneous and totally irrelevant.

The pathetic insistence on negotiations with extremists and terrorists like Zarqawi has now to recede, giving place to a resolute approach. Comparing the situation with the prelude period to WW II, we are now beyond the Munich 29 September 1938 level. There cannot be any Chamberlain – Daladier approach to Islamic terrorism.

The Western world must advance and go beyond useless and pathetic propaganda depicting Nazism as the worse ideology and political power that could have existed. Islamic Terrorism is immeasurably worse form of Barbarism than Nazism, and negotiations with common murderers ridicule always the authorities embarking on such adventures, and lead to ultimate defeat.

The 'Iraq' insurgence is the epicenter of the Islamic Terror's Agenda

'Iraq' has de facto been promoted by the international bogus-Islamic terrorism network as the frontal battle, and this is not quite coincidental. They did not opt for this, believing that they may win over the Americans by multiplying terrorist acts, while the American generals and diplomats have no idea what the correct treatment should be.

The international Islamic terrorism network and its leaders want to win the battle of Iraq, because Iraq is instrumental in their agenda. It is there that they want to found the first Islamic terrorist state in the world (that of course would be totally anti-Islamic if evaluated on the basis of the criteria set by the historical Islamic Civilization and Enlightenment – but this is continually meant throughout this article, so we will no repeat it anymore) with a leader who will be believed as the 'long awaited' Mahdi (the Islamic Messiah) assisted by another apocalyptic figure believed to be the Islamic Prophet Isa, namely Jesus.

Thinking that, in case several negative developments (American and British troops' departure, collapse of the new 'Iraqi' government) occur, the US – UK led alliance will still have recourse to various means, political – economic – military – nuclear, to fight the rising Islamic Caliphate of Al Yom al Ahar (the Latter Day) belongs to the sphere of absolute irresponsibility.

Ignoring that such a state will initiate a light speed domino collapse in large parts of the world from Mauritania to Indonesia consists in political ignorance and unforgivable gullibility.

Neglecting the reality of hundreds of millions of uneducated Muslim masses hating hysterically the West in its totality leads to political suicide because, when local political servants of the West, tyrannical bogus-presidents and puppet kings, will disappear under the domino effect, the so far compressed hysteria of hatred will be unleashed with such a ferocity and venomousness that were never expressed in the History of the Mankind.

The stakes being extremely high, there is now only one practical strategy left to the US in Iraq. Questioning whether it is ethical signifies contribution to the terrorists' ultimate success and to spreading darkness allover the world.

The issue is not over Democracy or Liberal Economy in Iraq or Democracy in the Middle East; what is at stake is 6000 years of Human Civilization.

American lack of knowledge, understanding, pragmatism and resolution

We have good reason to worry that the US military, diplomats, academia and the entire Bush Administration do not have the necessary knowledge and understanding. To follow Ellen Knickmeyer ('U.S. Claims Success in Iraq Despite Onslaught - Body Counts Now Cited as Benchmarks': Washington Post Foreign Service, Monday, September 19, 2005; Page A01), "the U.S. military claimed gains against Abu Musab Zarqawi's foreign-led fighters last week even as they mounted their deadliest attacks on Iraq's capital". According to the Washington Post correspondent, "August was the third-deadliest month of the war for U.S. troops", whereas "by many standards, including increasingly high death tolls in insurgent strikes, Zarqawi's group, al Qaeda in Iraq, could claim to be the side that's gaining".

In the article one can find a very significant quotation from Abu Hatem Dulaimi, a member of the Zarqawi-allied Ansar al-Sunna Army, saying "the fact that American forces still attack entire cities and towns in the west is a sign of how much territory remains out of U.S. and Iraqi government control".

The article focuses on the key issue, namely the victory. What would a victory in Iraq would be like? According to Cordesman, a Washington-based analyst quoted in the article, "the U.S. death and detention counts have "zero credibility," since U.S. forces provide little detail on those being killed and detained".

Americans seem to be astounded by the number of increasing number of local and foreign militants. However, it was to be expected that more foreign volunteers would arrive (from the stock of terrorists available allover the world and idiotically disregarded by 'analysts') and more Iraqis would join the insurgency (radicalized by the surrounding environment in which they found themselves). The reason for this is that the original American goals were unrealistic, and the American reaction to terrorists was meaningless.

It is truly unrealistic to disregard the colonial scheme that led to the formation of the technical entity named 'Iraq' and it is equally naïve to neglect the colonial and post-colonial realities of the bogus country 'Iraq'.

Following this political – military paranoia, the American goals seem rather relevant of credulous imagination. Reducing the insurgency, solidifying a central government, expanding 'democratic' concepts just like that, and other – correct but not correctly perceived, envisaged and performed – tasks belong to sphere of sheer fiction.

On the top of the aforementioned, extremely problematic situation, the American attacks on insurgents seem to offer the Islamic terrorists the death they pray for, and the gift they expect: their recognition as fighters of Islam by the local, uneducated and tyrannized masses.

When all this happens, it would be an aberration to think that the Sunni minority of 'Iraq' would be refrained from wholeheartedly joining or supporting the insurgency. They find it as the only means to regain the power they enjoyed at the times of Saddam's tyranny.

All this signifies that quite unfortunately the Americans have no realistic prospect in Iraq. Thinking that the solution could be 'the creation of a truly national army that includes Sunni Arabs for deployment into Anbar and other hot spots, and of a national government that gives the Sunni minority back a share of political power' is the top American mistake made so far, and equals to arming the enemy who wants to kill you.

The need for more American forces is understandable but only if a pertinent plan is to be implemented. More forces are needed but not to secure inimical towns and permeable desert borders…..

The Zarqawi menace: reason for the US to reconsider their Iraq policy

American military officials and analysts have reportedly said that the victory in Iraq can be only political. This is correct, suffice it that American military and diplomats understand what it takes. They must immediately get rid of their illusion of a united country named 'Iraq' governed under a central government.

Facing a total terrorist war, the US administration must go beyond puerility. They must identify their friends and their enemies; they must understand that in the Middle East one wins only under sheer terms of partiality! Democracy will come later, and after great educational efforts. The way up to that moment is long, and during this period America must be the all-committed supporter of some groups and the atrocious nemesis of others.

Opposing the terrorist bogus-Islamic agenda of Al Yom al Ahar and the bogus-Messiah of fake Muslims, America must finally find its best past moments. America signed the Treaty of Versailles (28 June 1919) and participated in the Yalta Conference (4 – 11 February 1945). In terms of International Law, it is clear that a war defeat implies loss of territory. What happened to Germany in the WW I and WWII must happen to the Sunnis of 'Iraq'. The Iraqi Sunnis were the backbone of Saddam Hussein's regime; having not repented at all, they fuel now the terrorist war conducted by Zarqawi against all the other ethnic and religious groups of Iraq, plus against the allied armed forces.

If a severe punishment with irreversible repercussions is not adjusted to Sunnis now, America will certainly lose the war in Iraq. The augur opportunity to implement a severe reprisals policy has been given by Zarqawi, who declared war to more than 85% of the 'Iraqi' population. The US administration must exploit this opportunity, cancel the measures and procedures initiated so far as ineffective, and embark on an ambitious plan of reforming 100 year of colonial scheme and tyranny.

What the US should do now!

It is impossible to describe in few paragraphs the long list of remedies, solutions and treatments that the accumulated problems of Mesopotamia ought to have. We will limit ourselves here in a few initial, basic measures that would help create a peaceful land at the banks of Tigris and Euphrates.

In earlier publications that cover the span of the entire year 2005 (The 27 Key Points for US Success in Iraq: http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/1-10-2005-63962.asp / A Map for Aram Nahrain / Mesopotamia: the Key to Peace in Iraq: http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/1-16-2005-64338.asp / Why America risks failing in Iraq: http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/8-4-2005-74217.asp / An Iraqi Constitution for Ossama Bin Laden?: http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/8-24-2005-75355.asp / 'Realism' in 'Iraq'? A Confederation named Aram Nahrain – Mesopotamia: http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/8-24-2005-75405.asp / America: Do Not Commit Suicide in Iraq!: http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/8-25-2005-75489.asp), we analyzed that the measures needed should be geared to destroy colonial structures and promote Enlightenment, Human Rights and Democracy among ethnic groups and peoples who never lived in peace and respect of the other over the past 750 years, to say the least (the 1258 destruction of Baghdad by the Mongols left an irreversible mark of decadence; the Islamic obscurantism started replacing Islamic Science and Philosophy in the aftermath of the Crusades; and finally, Mesopotamia was a frontal province of the Ottoman Empire, and so the area never prospered again).

1. Give the country its correct name: Aram – Nahrain / Mesopotamia.

2. Delete the term 'Iraq'.

3. Divide the entire country into four confederal zones: Aramaic, Shia Arabic – speaking, Kurdish, and Turkmen ( http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/1-16-2005-64338.asp).

4. Deport the populations accordingly.

5. Impose four official languages throughout all four confederal zones: Aramaic, Turkmen, Kurdish and Arabic.

6. Aramaic must be the second obligatory language for all the ethnic groups.

7. Delineate an area at the east of Baghdad and deport the entire Sunni Arabic – speaking population there – in tents.

8. Strip the entire Sunni Arabic – speaking population of their entire properties, and allow them to transport basic items only.

9. Impose a specific 5 – year program of education and forced labor for the entire, deported, Sunni Arabic – speaking population.

10. Isolate the country from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and wire the borders.
