Since its inception, Al Safa Halal has focused relentlessly on building its brand name within the North American Muslim community via a wide and extensive array of public relations, community outreach and promotional sales programs.

Members of Al Safa’s Community Relations Team have spoken and met with many members of the North American Muslim community – from local imams to community lay leaders to average consumers – educating them about Al Safa’s commitment to ritual purity. Furthermore, over the years, many community leaders have taken advantage of the company’s Open Door Policy (anyone can witness Al Safa’s ritual slaughter at any time, without notice) to visit its facilities and observe its production methods, and in all cases these visitors have left with complete satisfaction that Al Safa’s products are indisputably Halal, and have spread that word in their communities.

Over the years, Al Safa has also made considerable charitable donations in cash and in kind to a wide array of North American Muslim charitable organizations, such as the Muslim Students Association of America, the Islamic Society of North America and the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan.

These efforts have been highly successful, and today the name “Al Safa Halal” has become synonymous with processed Halal foods in the minds of most North American Muslim consumers, and dominates mindshare in the Halal food category. Furthermore, after years of effort on Al Safa’s part, this is even more true for supermarket executives than for consumers. Al Safa is well known in supermarket circles as “The Halal Company” – as far as supermarket executives are concerned, there is no “Number Two” Halal brand.
